Description

Raspberries are brightly colored berries with a distinctive flavor, widely used in food processing, baking, beverages, and dairy products. Due to their soft texture and high water content, raspberries are prone to crushing and damage after harvesting and are unsuitable for prolonged storage at room temperature; consequently, quick-freezing is a crucial processing method for extending shelf life and maintaining product quality. A frozen raspberry processing packing line is the primary equipment used to carry out this process.

Main processes of the frozen raspberry processing line:

A complete frozen raspberry processing packing line is typically configured based on the condition of the raw material, production capacity, and final product requirements; it primarily includes stages such as washing, sorting and inspection, draining and dewatering, IQF (Individual Quick Freezing), and packaging.

  1. Washing

After entering the frozen raspberry production line, fresh raspberries must be washed to remove surface soil, dust, and plant debris. Given the delicate structure of the fruit, the washing equipment must ensure effective cleaning while minimizing mechanical damage. Depending on the cleanliness of the raw material and the factory’s hygiene standards, equipment such as bubble washers may be employed. Properly regulated water flow and conveying methods facilitate thorough cleaning while reducing issues like fruit breakage or crushing.

  1. Sorting and Inspection

After washing, the raspberries require further sorting—a crucial step in ensuring the quality of the quick-frozen product. The frozen raspberry processing line can be equipped with inspection conveyors where staff visually examine the raspberries, promptly removing substandard items such as damaged, moldy, or rotten fruit, as well as undersized or broken pieces.

For high-volume processing enterprises, optical sorters may also be employed; these utilize visual recognition technology to assess characteristics such as color, appearance, and size, thereby enhancing sorting efficiency and product consistency.

  1. Draining and De-watering

After washing, raspberries typically retain some surface moisture. If they were to enter the quick-freezing equipment directly, this excess surface moisture could increase the freezing load and negatively affect the product’s appearance and packaging quality. Therefore, equipment for draining and air-drying is usually employed prior to quick-freezing to remove excess surface moisture through methods such as vibration, conveyance, and air-blowing. This process does not involve thoroughly drying the raspberries but rather targets surface moisture, ensuring the raw material enters the raspberry freezing machine in a state better suited for quick-freezing.

  1. Individual Quick Freezing

Quick freezing is the core stage of the frozen raspberry processing line. Once pre-treated raspberries enter the raspberry frozen machine, low-temperature cold air rapidly extracts heat, freezing the individual berries within a short period. The advantage of individual quick freezing is that the raspberries remain relatively separate, preventing them from freezing into a solid mass that is difficult to break apart. This not only facilitates subsequent automated weighing and packaging but also allows consumers to portion out exactly the amount they need.

  1. Packaging and Sealing

Once quick-freezing is complete, the raspberries must proceed immediately to the packaging stage to minimize temperature rise caused by prolonged exposure to ambient temperatures. The production line can be configured with equipment for automatic weighing, bagging, sealing, and boxing, depending on the sales model.

Retail products can be packaged in small units of various sizes for consumer convenience, while commercial packaging with larger capacities can be used for food processing enterprises based on specific customer requirements.

Applications:

The frozen raspberry processing line is also suitable for other berries, such as blueberries and strawberries. By adjusting the parameters of the conveying, sorting, washing, dewatering, and quick-freezing equipment, it can be used to process a wide variety of berries and fruits.
